Grazing Help Weight Loss

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

Normally cattle graze. According to nutritionists, “Grazing” (or Snacking) is fast becoming American eating. If you have a problem keeping a healthy weight, you may want to try grazing.

Grazing is a pattern of eating that involves consuming multiple meals throughout the day. The idea is that if you eat small portions every few hours, it will keep your hunger under control, metabolism elevated, and energy levels high. By adopting this eating pattern, you will obtain other health benefits as well. According to the Cleveland Clinic, a study conducted at Cambridge found that eating more frequently lowered lousy cholesterol (LDL) levels.

Stock up on healthy foods. Even though you will eat smaller portions, choose foods high in nutrients and low in fat, sugar, and sodium. Chicken breasts, lean beef, fish, turkey loins, eggs, low-fat dairy products, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans are quality foods. These foods are quality protein sources and complex carbs, which can help fill you up and keep you feeling full between meals.

Eat every two to three hours. Combine protein and complex carbs with every meal. An example of a balanced meal is a whole-wheat pita with sliced turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, and mustard. (Source: http://www.livestrong.com)

A quick and easy way to plan meals is to think half! For instance, enjoy half of your lunch at noon, just put the fork down and then eat the rest 3 hours later. (Source: Eating Smaller, More Frequent Meals by Megan Porter, RD)

To maintain a healthy weight, you can make vegetable drinks with a powerful blender; please check www.healthyping.com to find the Green drink for detoxification, Red drink for enhancing energy, and Natto and beans drink for protein supply.

To help lose weight, you need to drink enough water 64 OZ a day. Researchers in Germany report that water consumption increases the rate at which people burn calories.

To keep weight off, exercise 5 days a week for 30 minutes. Tai Chi, Yogilates, Pilates, and Yuga are good choices. These slow movements for stretching and balancing are safe exercises that have a low impact on joints and help burn off calories. For example, Tai Chi, using slow movements, will help you burn off more calories than surfing and even downhill skiing.
