Ping’s Meridian Therapy

In traditional Chinese medicine, good health depends upon two things: 1) an unobstructed flow of energy, or Qi, through the body along 12 primary channels, or meridians; 2) a balance between the two life forces----Yin ( for a cold, inside & passive vital energy) and Yang (for a warm, outside & active, vital energy). Illness or pain occurs when the flow of Qi is blocked or when one life force dominates the other; one analogy would be a traffic jam of energy inside the body.

Acupuncture acts directly on the meridians. The hair-thin needles are inserted into the skin at specific points along the meridians to redirect or unblock stagnant Qi. To achieve the best result for our patients, before each acupuncture treatment, we perform Ping’s meridian therapy which includes two techniques: Ping’s meridian massage and acupressure. Pressure along the meridians or on the specific points (acupoints) clears up the body’s traffic jam. It makes Qi (energy and blood) flow like a river, therefore, rebalancing the movement of energy between the two life forces, Yin and Yang, in the body. Ping’s meridian therapy reaches a much wider surface area and makes blood and energy flow into each corner of the body. Acupuncture focuses on deep and specific points. Both techniques complement one another and work more effectively than a single one.
